INDX Kids trade show, organised by Associated Independent Stores (AIS), takes place next month (2 - 3 July) so we thought it was the perfect time to take a closer look at the latest trends in children's fashion, what's motivating consumers today, and match them with some of the amazing brands that will exhibiting at INDX Kids in July.
'Kite' flies the Sustainability message
Rentable clothing has become the latest revolution in sustainable fashion – a movement that holds significant relevance to the kidswear category. Babies and children grow out of their clothes quickly, with many wearing the same size for as little as a few months. Renting garments allows for kids to wear and share their loved items, while upcycling clothes also increases their lifespan by slowing down fast fashion and adding further value to each piece.
Exhibiting at INDX Kids in July, Kite, partners with multiple rental subscription services, enabling parents to find both vintage pieces and newer designs. Make sure to stop by the Kite stand to find out more.

It's all about Organic Fabrics with MAI Clothing
A growing sustainable focus and concern for the environment are just a few of the drivers behind the increasing popularity of organic materials, which has been reflected in the product lines of many kidswear brands. 100% organic cotton, natural fibres and recycled fabrics are key focus areas that make up kidswear ranges today, with brands making efforts to highlight their green supply chains and high-quality fabrics.
Children's clothing specialist, MAI Clothing, shares this message by choosing suppliers that comply with Global Organic Textile Standards and supporting charities who help endangered species and the ecosystem. This is reflected in its clothing designs which focus on animal illustrations and themes. Pop by the MAI Clothing stand at INDX Kids to learn more about the textiles it uses.
Ducky Zebra celebrates Gender Neutral and Circularity
Inclusivity and diversity are becoming increasingly key themes in fashion and brands are bringing this into the kidswear world by changing colour palettes to reflect unisex designs. Many are looking to remove gender stereotypes by expanding their colours beyond pink and blue.
Exhibiting at the show is Ducky Zebra, with its new design direction. The brand made it a core value to celebrate kindness and confidence through gender neutral clothing. Catch up with the Ducky Zebra team at INDX Kids next month.

Education Through the Natural World with Hatley
A fun playful addition to kidswear sees brands exploring interactive ways to engage children through fashion. By creating interactive characters, features and games, fashion can be used to educate children about the natural world.
Kidswear brand, Hatley, has introduced a ‘Books to Bed’ sleepwear range made from 100% cotton, which invites children to read their books and see the illustrations on their sleepwear. Ducky Zebra also shares this education initiative through its Eco Award chart, which encourages kids to take care of the planet and become ‘eco heroes’, celebrating their efforts with rewards and certificates. Hatley will be available to chat to at the upcoming INDX Kids show so make sure to include them when you visit.
