Associated Independent Stores (AIS) is proud to announce a new partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF), creating an innovative way for our independent retail business owners to manage excess goods while demonstrating ESG commitments in action. This new collaboration provides a practical solution for our Members who are looking to participate in charitable giving, by transforming end-of-line and customer return stock into valuable donations.
The partnership allows Members to donate a wide range of surplus items, from clothing and sporting goods to furniture and electronics. These items will be given a ‘second life’ through the BHF's nationwide retail network, with all proceedings directly funding the charity's groundbreaking research into heart and circulatory diseases.
Georgina Kelly, Director of Marketing said:
"The partnership with the BHF is a brilliant opportunity; a straightforward initiative that gives our Members an easy way to reduce waste and contribute to a more sustainable future. We’re looking forward to working with them."
The BHF's extensive logistics network makes the donation process simple and efficient, offering tailored services for both one-off clearances and ongoing contributions. Participating Members will receive a clear impact report, allowing them to track the positive environmental and social benefits of their donations.
Karen O'Donoghue, Head of Retail Partnerships said:
"We are proud to be working with AIS to help retailers turn surplus stock into meaningful impact. Every donation supports the BHF’s life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases, while also promoting sustainability. With tailored support services, take-back services, and ongoing donation solutions, we’re making it simple for businesses to reduce waste and contribute to a more sustainable future."
BHF will be attending the INDX Home show on 9-10 September 2025, where representatives will be available to discuss the partnership and its benefits.
